This privacy policy describes how Tao Yan, trading as Zero Carbon Logic (“we”, “us”) handles data in connection with the Carbon Factor Matcher MCP service.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service:
License key hash — A one-way hash of your license key is stored locally (SQLite) to enforce the 300 queries/day limit for Free tier users and to track usage statistics. The original license key is not stored.
Anonymized query terms — Search queries are processed in-memory for factor matching and are not persisted beyond the active request.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
LLM context or prompts — Your AI agent’s conversation context, system prompts, and any data passed to the MCP tool are processed ephemerally and never logged or stored.
Personal credentials — We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information (PII) through the MCP service itself.
Payment information — All payment processing is handled entirely by Paddle. We never see or store your credit card details, billing address, or payment credentials.
4. How Data Is Used
License key hashes are used solely for usage tracking and rate limiting.
No data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Data Storage & Security
Usage tracking data is stored locally on the server in a SQLite database.
Communication between your MCP client and our server is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).
Factor data (emission factors) is served from Cloudflare R2 and cached in memory. This data is publicly sourced (ELCD) or commercially licensed (ecoinvent) and contains no personal information.
6. Third-Party Services
Paddle — Payment processing and license key generation. Paddle’s privacy policy applies to all checkout and billing data. See Paddle Privacy Policy.
